Siena Lending Group is an independent commercial finance company offering asset based loans between $1 and $30 million to small and middle market businesses across the United States. Siena offers a turn-key servicing platform, which provides an attractive asset based product for community and regional banks that desire improved operating metrics and asset diversification. Siena’s independence as a finance company allows innovative & flexible solutions, while allowing its customers to maintain a relationship with their own bank. Siena’s management team is experienced, innovative, dependable, entrepreneurial, and highly regarded within the industry. The team has, on average, 20 years each of experience and has transacted over $12 billion in facilities. 

History

2006 - Burdale Capital Finance, Inc. is founded as the U.S. asset-based lending division of the Bank of Ireland.

2012 - As a result of the mandatory deleveraging of Irish banks by the International Monetary Fund, Burdale's U.S. portfolio was sold to Wells Fargo Bank.

2012 - The former executive team of Burdale is relaunched as Siena Lending Group

2016 - Since our founding in 2012, Siena has approved 88 transactions with over $649 million in credit facilities.

Leadership Team

David Grende, President & CEO

David has more than 30 years of experience building and running ABL businesses. Prior to Siena, Dave founded Burdale Capital Finance as the U.S. ABL Subsidiary of Bank of Ireland. His professional experience also includes roles at Huron Consulting Group, Comdisco Ventures, Arthur Anderson, CIT and a Bank of America subsidiary, which he also started as a de novo asset based finance business.


Steve Sanicola,  Director Risk & Portfolio Management


Steve has more than 32 years of commercial finance experience, specifically in underwriting, risk management and portfolio management.  Prior to Siena, Steve was Director and Head of Portfolio Management at Burdale. Steve’s ABL background includes various credit roles at GE Capital and Fleet Bank/Connecticut Bank & Trust.


Victoria Levine, Director of ABL Alliance

Victoria heads up the ABL Alliance effort with Community Banks. Prior to joining Siena, Victoria held various sales and marketing roles in the trade credit insurance industry, including Coface North America and FGI Risk.


JEFFREY GROBARCIK, CREDIT OPERATIONS MANAGER

Jeff has more than 13 years of experience in Asset Based Lending as both a Collateral Analyst and Operations Manager. Prior to Siena, Jeff worked at Citigroup, N.A., G.E. Capital and Burdale in various operational roles.


MIIN CHEN, CFO

Miin has 10 years of experience in accounting, audit , operations and treasury management.  Prior to Siena, Miin was a direct report to the Controller at Burdale and has worked as an auditor at both PricewaterhouseCoopers and JH Cohn (CohnReznick). Miin is a CPA in the state of New Jersey and holds a Masters in Accounting from Boston College.  


ANTHONY LAVINIO, DIRECTOR UNDERWRITING

Anthony has over 16 years of experience in the ABL industry, with a background of structuring and underwriting transactions between $3 million to $100 million. Prior to Siena, Anthony was the Senior Underwriter at Burdale. Anthony’s ABL background includes ABL underwriting roles at CIT, FINOVA Capital, LaSalle Business Credit and Keltic Financial Services.
